15CDV6 · Heat-Resistant Cr-Mo-V Alloy Quenched & Tempered Steel
A heat-resistant, chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloyed quenched and tempered steel with high strength and excellent weldability. Tennant Metall supplies 15CDV6 in tested quality ex stock Herne – for rocket engines, aircraft structures and motorsport chassis construction.
What is 15CDV6?
15CDV6 (material number 1.7734) is a heat-resistant CrMoV alloy quenched and tempered steel with high strength, frequently used for highly stressed components in motorsport, industry and aerospace. Due to its chemical composition, 15CDV6 is excellently suited for hardening and, in the quenched-and-tempered condition, offers high tensile strength combined with good weldability.
15CDV6 is used, among other things, for rocket engine casings, electric motor components, extremely lightweight and durable aircraft components and structures, motorsport chassis, and important components in the nuclear and defence industries. Tennant Metall supplies the grade as round bar, seamless tube, flat bar, plate and welding rod, on request including heat treatment and a 3.1 mill certificate per EN 10204.
