Overview

Sheet & Plate for Aerospace, Defence and Mechanical Engineering

Our flat-rolled supply programme ranges from precipitation-hardening stainless steels to low-alloy quenched and tempered steels, in standard formats to European and US standards. The most common grades are held in stock; unusual materials and formats we source on short notice.

Cut lengths are supplied cost-effectively up to 200 mm thickness to your specification, including a 3.1 mill certificate to EN 10204 and export-ready packaging to IPPC standard. For details on our processing capabilities, see the Processing & Custom Services section.

In addition to steel grades, we also source and stock sheet and plate in aluminium and nickel-base alloys such as Inconel® on request.

Five Alloys That Shape Our Sheet & Plate Programme

1.4544 (SAE 321) is by far our deepest stock and our recommendation for the shortest lead time. The other four materials round out our core programme and are also regularly available from stock or on short lead time.

1.4544 SAE 321 / AISI 321

Titanium-stabilised austenitic chromium-nickel steel with good elevated-temperature strength and weldability. By far our deepest stock in the sheet programme — available from stock in nearly all common thicknesses from 0.4 to 5.0 mm.

StandardsDIN 65389 / DIN 65390 · ASNA 3106 · AIR 9160C · Airbus QPL
1.4545 15-5PH

Martensitic precipitation-hardening chromium-nickel-copper steel with high strength combined with good toughness and corrosion resistance. Proven for highly stressed sheet components in aerospace.

StandardsAMS 5862 · DIN 65389 / DIN 65390
1.4548 17-4PH

Precipitation-hardening chromium-nickel-copper steel with a broad property range. Widely used as sheet and plate in aerospace, mechanical engineering and defence.

StandardsAMS 5604 · DIN 65389 / DIN 65390 · ABS 5691
1.7734 15CDV6

Low-alloy chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel, readily weldable and heat-treatable, with high strength at low weight. Proven as sheet material in frame and structural construction.

StandardsAIR 9160C · DIN 65389 / DIN 65390 · ASNA 3102
1.7214 / 1.7218 25CrMo4

Low-alloy quenched and tempered steel with a balanced combination of strength, toughness and weldability — one of our core programmes across all product forms.
