Five Alloys That Shape Our Flat Bar Programme
These five materials define our flat bar range and are regularly available in common fixed sizes or on short lead time.
Martensitic precipitation-hardening chromium-nickel-copper steel with high strength combined with good toughness and corrosion resistance. Held in our flat bar stock in condition H1025, among others, across numerous fixed sizes.
Precipitation-hardening chromium-nickel-copper steel with a broad property range depending on heat-treatment condition. Carried in our flat bar programme both as-delivered (Cond. A) and precipitation-hardened (H1025).
High-strength precipitation-hardening stainless steel with particularly good toughness at high strength — suited to highly stressed, safety-critical flat components in aerospace and defence. Stocked in condition H1050, among others.
Low-alloy chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel, readily weldable and heat-treatable, with high strength at low weight. Available as flat material quenched and tempered, including condition T1080 — proven in frame and structural construction.
Low-alloy quenched and tempered steel with a balanced combination of strength, toughness and weldability — one of our core programmes across all product forms. As flat material, available on short notice drawing on our extensive tube and round bar stock, or sourced on request.
